I have just purchased a daER/ED license, what do I do now?

First, go to our download site to download a new copy of the daER/ED software. This will insure that you have the latest version. Then, on your PC, uninstall your old copy of daER/ED and install the new copy. Then follow the "how do I enter the serial number" instructions below.

How do I enter the serial number?

Execute the da-erconfig.exe windows program. It is located in the "bin" directory in the Digital Assist folder usually c:\Program Files\Digital Assist\ER\bin. When the program has loaded, go to the "Help" menu item and click it. You will then see the "About ..." entry. Click on this entry to display the "About box". In the field designated "serial #" enter the 26 digit serial number and click the "OK" button. You will asked to confirm that you want to change the serial number. Click "OK" to confirm. If an error message appears "Sorry, this new serial number is not valid" you have typed the serial number incorrectly or you are entering a serial number that was not intended for the release of the software that you are running. Verify that you are running the right release by doing the following. Compare the release number in the "About box" to the sixth thru eighth digits of the serial number. If these do not match, the serial number is not for the release of software that you are running. At this point you should contact Digital Assist so that we can ascertain the problem.

I just purchased more than one license. Why do I have a serial number for every license I have purchased

You have purchased our small business solution - a group of individual licenses. Each license allows you to install the charting application on one palm device and the windows configuration and operations application on one PC desktop device. So if you have 10 licenses, you can install daER/ED on 10 palm devices and 10 PC desktop devices with each PC desktop device requiring its own serial number. So to use your 10 licenses, you must use 10 PC desktop devices where each PC desktop device communicates with one palm device. If this requirement presents a problem for you, please contact us at sales@digitalassist.net and inquire about converting your individual licenses to a group license. Group licenses can be tailored to fit almost any need.

My software has been running fine but now I get an error message that says my license has expired. What does this mean?

Digital Assist software can be sold in one of 3 ways:
  1. As a group license with no expiration
  2. As an individual license with no expiration that is valid for the life of one release
  3. As an individual license with a one-year expiration.
The message you are seeing means that you have an individual license with a one-year expiration and the expiration date has passed. To solve this problem you must contact Digital Assist by phone to renew your license.
